Your assessment answers

When you answer questions on MaturityModel.io, your answers are processed entirely in your browser. They are never sent to us or stored on any server we control.

To let you save and share progress, your answers are encoded in the page address (the ?state= part of the URL). This means:

  • Anyone you send your results link to can see your answers.
  • Your answers may appear in your browser history and in any bookmarks you create.
  • Clearing the URL, or using the Reset Assessment button, removes them from the page.

PDF and CSV exports are generated in your browser and saved directly to your device.

Analytics

We use Google Analytics 4 to understand how the site is used: for example, which assessments are popular and how visitors find us. Google Analytics uses cookies and collects information such as the pages you visit, your approximate location (country or city level), the type of device and browser you use, and the website that referred you. Google provides this information to us in aggregated form, and we don't use it to identify individual visitors.

Because your answers are stored in the page URL, page addresses sent to Google Analytics may include the encoded ?state= value. That value contains question IDs and the level numbers 1–3 that you chose. It contains no personal information unless you add some yourself.

You can opt out of Google Analytics by using the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on, blocking cookies in your browser settings, or using a content blocker. Google's use of data is described in Google's privacy policy.

Other storage in your browser

We store a single preference, your choice of light or dark theme, in your browser's local storage, and only if you use the theme toggle. It never leaves your device.

Hosting

The site is hosted on Cloudflare. Like most hosting providers, Cloudflare processes technical information such as IP addresses to deliver pages and protect the site from abuse. See Cloudflare's privacy policy.

Third-party resources

Apart from Google Analytics, every page is served entirely from our own site: fonts, styles, scripts and charts are hosted alongside the pages, so no other third party receives requests from your browser.

Changes and contact

We'll update this page if our practices change. Questions about this policy can be raised by opening an issue on GitHub.
